Access Details

Your WordPress access

Prepared for [[ Client name ]]. As part of your site security upgrade, the WordPress admin area now sits behind an extra access layer. Signing in is a two-step process, shown below. Please keep this page confidential.

How signing in works

Before you reach the normal WordPress login, your browser asks for a site password. That extra gate keeps automated attacks away from your admin area. You enter two sets of details, once each, then you are in.

1

Site password

A small browser pop-up that appears first, before the WordPress screen.

Why the extra step

WordPress login pages are a constant target for automated, around-the-clock attacks. The site password in step one stops those bots before they ever reach your login, without changing how you work once you are signed in.

Keeping your access secure

  • Treat these details like the keys to your site. Store them in a password manager, not in email or chat.
  • Tell us any time you would like a password rotated, or a teammate added with their own login.
  • If you ever cannot get past the first pop-up, that is the site password (step one), not WordPress.
